Yay! Congratulations on your recent engagement! I am sure you are so BEYOND EXCITED about your recent engagement to your best friend! You have every right to be feeling like you're on cloud nine. I know the thought of everything you have to for your wedding can become quite overwhelming. So we, here at Enamored Events, have come up with our top 5 tips on what to do once you’re engaged!
Here are Enamored Events’ "Top 5 Tips on What to do Once You’re Engaged" in no particular order! Happy reading!
1. Set your budget.
I know, I know. This is one of those awkward questions that no one ever wants to talk about or admit too. But if you have a firm grasp on your budget, you can be true to yourself and distinguish and differentiate between your wants and needs for the wedding.
2. Figure out the logistics.
Go ahead and set a date. Figure out the wedding location. You do not have to figure out the venue, just yet. However, you can decide whether you want a destination or a local wedding, beach or country-side, church or hotel ballroom, etc.? Start thinking about your theme. Traditional or modern? Also, figure out the number of anticipated guests (well, at least have an approximation).
3. Get organized.
If you plan on being involved, you will need to be organized. Buy a monthly planner that is versatile. So you can add business cards and pictures of things you’ve pinned. If you don't want to physically lug a monthly planner around, you can always use electronic versions of planners and calendars.
4. Hire a wedding planner!
Seriously, I'm not even being biased with this one; but simply speaking the truth. You will encounter some mishaps and bumps along the way and even on your wedding day (even though, I wish it never happens to anyone!). So you want a dedicated, knowledgeable and trustworthy individual who can put out these flames for you.
Now, I am sure that your Aunt Jane can do this for you... But, why give her that stress and responsibility? Don't you want your family members and guests to enjoy this joyful celebration with you? Rather than worrying about any issues that may arise during your wedding day, a planner would be able to handle those unpredictable mishaps, manage day-of coordination, make sure you remain on time, and most importantly, alleviate the stress off of your shoulders. Trust me, hire a wedding planner--it will be money well spent.
5. Breathe, relax and cherish this special moment in your life! Realize that everything will work out in the end. Enjoy this time and be sure to start pampering yourself.
